Consultancy

LTC & DTC provide a wide range of comprehensive and detailed consultancy services which are all supported with in-depth reports to under pin our recommendations using (where possible) non-technical terms, in a logical format for all levels of reader with pictures, charts and graphs where appropriate.

Due to the unique and often complex issues on the consultancy projects undertaken we always provide a detailed quotation for all work undertaken.

Plant layout and design

The choice of machinery and equipment and it’s placement to achieve optimum work-flow and productivity is critical; Interrupted or crossing Work-flow lines can halve output. Getting the plant layout right first time means increased efficiency and reduced operational costs.

Mechanical and Electrical design and specification

Insufficient electrical power or incorrectly sized water and steam lines can cripple a factory and cause greatly extended process times and reduce productivity leading to costs increases.

Production streamlining and improvements

In existing sites, the strategic relocation of key equipment or addition of ancillary equipment can often improve work-flow and efficiency by 30% or more.

Hygiene, Production, Quality and Costs audits

If you need to confirm the standards being achieved and find ways of improving them – the LTC & DTC audit can help. Our Hygiene and Quality audits are an independent assessment of your plant that can also serve as a marketing tool when negotiating with existing and potential clients.

Textile Specifications

Fabric life and the ease with which it can be handled and retain its appearance are critical to satisfied customers. The wrong specification when buying your textiles can (and often does) lead to a myriad of processing problems and user dissatisfaction – which we can help avoid.

Detergent development & assessment

The art of textile cleaning demands the right detergent system and processing conditions. Adding the wrong chemicals can not only destroy your textiles but also reduce soil removal and increase effluent charges. Knowing objectively what you are currently achieving can often be the success to improvements – which is how we help.

Arbitration

Misunderstandings can often occur between the customer, the launderer/drycleaner and the supplier (Chemicals, Textiles, Machinery and so on) and independent expert advice and guidance is needed. As the UK’s largest independent consultancy we provide this help and guidance – all supported with our technical skills and knowledge.

Tender Evaluation

It is often difficult for a non-technical person to not only write a tender document but to also understand the contents of the bid document given by potential suppliers and to validate that the suppliers are actually able to provide the service and quality standards required. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the preparation of tender documents but also in the assessment and validation of bids so that management are able to make informed decisions.

Carbon Trust grants

With the pro-active government support to help our industry reduce our carbon foot-print there are financial incentives for this – but the complexity of the application and grant forms can be bewildering unless you have the necessary knowledge and experience – which LTC have.

Quality monitoring

Increasingly companies are demanding regular independent monitoring of hygiene and quality standards – especially if they operate within the EU or are in hygiene sensitive areas of operation, e.g. food, electronics and healthcare. LTC have various monitoring systems that meet all of the most exacting standards – and also give expert advice as to how to improve or more easily maintain them.

Product and equipment evaluation.

If you are ever disappointed that the result you are getting is not quite what you expected – it is often difficult to know why – without expert guidance and investigation. On the other hand, you may simply need to know just what your product is able to achieve and how to get the best from it – or what changes can be made to further improve it. This is where LTC are able to provide the invaluable help and support.

Textile Labeling

Many new textiles enter the market each year and based on the design and construction or local regulations, will need to meet certain minimum standards. The correct advice on how the buyer can get the best service from your textile is affected by all of these factors and the correct use of care label symbols and pre-testing methods.

Wash process design

A poorly designed wash process will affect your costs (high water, steam usage), productivity (processes too long), quality (poor stain and soil removal) and fabric life (textiles fall apart too quickly). LTC can design your wash processes to ensure the optimum use of all resources whilst achieving the required quality.

Strategy Reviews

The market place is constantly changing and customer requirements will vary – which requires a periodic re-assessment of your market-place and range of services provided. LTC are well placed to provide the right depth of information and knowledge to help you decide what your business strategy should be for the future growth and development of your business.
